Playby: Emma Watson

Personality:
Vera’s a very reserved person. She used to be bubbly and fun-loving, but now she’s quieter and honestly, she gets scared easily. You would think it would take a lot to scare a Victor, but Vera gets nervous if someone tries to surprise her or even if someone she’s not comfortable with touches her. Still, she’s still sort of a quiet, sarcastic shell of the girl she once was. She still jokes around with her amazing husband and she loves spending time with some of the animals, but she still has nightmares about the Games. Still, she makes an effort to be happy with her life now and she keeps telling herself that’s all in the passed. That’s what gets her through the day. Still, she worries about everything and gets nervous easily.
Vera’s a very loving person. She cares deeply for her husband and her family, and she does care about he tributes she has to mentor. She won’t admit it, but she cries her eyes out when something happens to the children she’s supposed to mentor. It makes her feel like a monster. If she had just tried harder, they would have made it out. Though she would love children, she knows she can’t have them. They would only be put in more danger since she’s a victor and people love to see if victor’s children are just as tough as their parents. So, she’ll settle for just raising animals with her husband.
Vera has always loved learning. Before she was reaped, she planned on being a teacher. Now she doesn’t need to worry about a job, but she still loves learning. Vera reads books ever chance she gets, fiction are her favorite. They take her away from the pain of the Hunger Games.
The most important thing in Vera’s life is her husband. Vera loves Abe so much, she’s willing to do anything for him. He’s her best friend and she loves him more than life itself. If it weren’t for him, she might have killed herself after everything. But, he keeps her stable and she loves him for that.
Strengths:
- Compassion. Vera’s very compassionate and loves everyone. She tries to not hold grudges. If she seems someone who’s hungry, Vera gives them some. Vera’s very generous and loving to all. She’s sweet and always willing to help others.
- A good actress. Vera had a very similar strategy as Johanna Mason. She pretended to be weak and a coward and no one thought she was threatening. Then when it came down between her and three others, Vera fought them off like a true killer. Even she was shocked at how good she was at pretending to be a defenseless damsel.
- Intelligent. Vera's rather smart and good at thinking things through. She prefers to think about things rather than just jumping in head first. Vera was quite proud of her plans during the Hunger Games. Well, she wasn't proud to be a murderer, but she was slightly proud that she had thought of a good enough strategy to get her home alive.
Weaknesses:
- Abe Worthington. Vera loves him more than anything and would do anything for him. She playfully argues with him sometimes, but she would never do something to hurt him. Vera would hate herself more than she already does if she hurt him in anyway. Though she would never tell him, Vera would have probably either gone insane or killed herself after the Hunger Games if it hadn't been for him.
- Not very strong. While she isn't a killing machine, Vera is strong enough to kill someone when it's one on one. She isn't the toughest girl around, but she tries her best. Vera isn't weak by any means, but she's not as strong as careers.
- Cares to much. Sometimes, Vera cares way to much about people. She hates watching mentees die, or anyone really. Except careers, because usually they laugh and enjoy killing others. That makes Vera sick. Still, she cries and tries her best to keep her mentees alive, but it's never enough.

Important People:
- Abe Worthington. He's the most important person in her life. He saved her from depression, gave her a shoulder to cry on, protects her from nightmares, and is really her saving grace. If anything were to happen to him, Vera would probably kill herself.
- Bellovia Bleu. Vera loves her mother a lot. She's the second most important person in Vera's life. Bellovia is still scared of losing her only daughter and therefore babys Vera. She loves Abe, and is so happy for her daughter and her son-in-law. Vera makes a habit of spending a lot of time with her mother.
- Barnabus Bleu. Vera has a very good relationship with her over-protective father. Barnabus makes it a point to be active in his daughter's life and almost lost it when she went into the arena. He loves her dearly and Vera thinks the world of him. Besides Abe, Barnabus is the most important man in Vera's life.
History:
Vera Astoria Bleu was born twenty-one years ago in District 10. Barnabus and Bellovia were so excited to have a child, they thought Vera was perfect. They only wanted one child, and they were so happy that they had Vera.
Vera grew up loving books and learning, so it was no suprise that she loved school. She didn't have a large amount of friends, but she was okay with that. Vera had her books and her parents, plus she wasn't totally friendless. She just wasn't the most popular girl in her grade. Vera was quite smart and her teachers praised her for her work. She was happy.
Besides, she had Abe. Abraham Worthington was her next door neighbor, and her best friend. He was one year older than her, but neither one minded. Vera spent almost all of her time with Abe. She realized she had a crush on him when she was about twelve. From then on, she always blushed around him. He was just so nice to her and he was really cute, it was hard not to like him. Vera liked him a lot, but she was way to shy to admit it. He was a year older than her, there wasn't any way he liked her too.
Vera was terrified of being reaped for the Hunger Games. It scared her more than anything. Well, she also feared for Abe being reaped, but that was different. As much as she hated to admit it, Vera was a bit selfish when it came to the Hunger Games. She feared for herself.
When she was fifteen, that nightmare became a reality. Her name was called and no one volunteered for her, not that she blamed them. No one wanted to die like that. Vera held it together until she was on the train, then burst into tears. She cried for most of the way to the Capitol.
By some grace of God, Vera had a good mentor. Sella was smart, kind, and determined to get Vera home. The two cooked up a very good strategy. Vera was to act defenceless and pretend to be scared of everything until it was just her and a few others. Sella was sure this would work, and Vera hoped so.
So, when the time came, Vera entered the arena. That year, it was a large maze. It was so complex that even Vera had trouble remembering where everything was. She hid in a spot close to the careers' camp, but far enough to not be seen. She lived off some plants that grew around her area and water from the lake near the careers. She went in the dead of night when they were all asleep. Vera let them pick off the others quickly, until it was just the girl from District One, the boy from District Two, and the girl from District Four. Then, she made her plan. She hid until she was sure they were all asleep, then she slit the throats of the boy and the girl from Four. To her horror, the girl from One woke up as soon as she had killed the other girl. Vera was forced to fight her, resulting in several good cuts from the girl's knife. She finally managed to get an opening, the girl's heart. Vera quickly stabbed her and then it hit her, she was a victor. She had won.
Vera finally went home, a very much changed girl. As soon as she stepped off the train, she saw her parents and Abe had come to see her. Then, her life changed for the better. Abe kissed her. Vera was caught up with so many emotions that she started crying. It wasn't her best moment, but she was so happy to be back with Abe and her parents.
Then, the nightmares started. She would wake up, drenched in sweat and screaming. The nightmares were awful and they were always the same. She would creep into the careers' camp, only to find that the boy she had killed was Abe. She always killed him. Vera was terrified and so worried about Abe, who was always there for her. He listened to her fears and kissed away her tears. Vera would always be thankful for that.
Six years later, Vera and Abe got married. Vera was worried at first, but Abe convinced her to go through with it, and Vera was happy that she did. He was always there when she had nightmares, or when she needed someone to just hold her and tell her it was okay.
The scars of the 69th Hunger Games were beginning to fade, but the 75th Games is just around the corner. Vera's worried about them, given it's the Quarter Quell, but she knows she has to get through it. Vera has to for Abe, for her district, and for herself.
Views on the game:
She hates them more than anything. Vera's terrified of them.
