Mags: Though she has passed, she risked her life to save Finnick and Annie.
Moira Cresta: Annie's mother, now deceased. Though she didn't have her for very long, she will never forget her.
Liam Cresta: The one who raised her and taught her everything before drowning shortly after Annie returned from winning the games.
History:
Annie was born to Moira and Liam Cresta on a cool day in August. Her father taught her to swim at a young age, teaching her how to fish and distinguish plants and use them to her advantage. Even at an early age she was an odd child, finding more friendship amongst the tide pools than with actual people. She found herself never really fitting in properly with the other children....Annie always laughed a little too loudly, or at the most inappropriate times.
Annie had been born a month or so premature resulting in an awkward, weakness that never really left her. Her mother perishing at a young age also crippled her social abilities making it more difficult for her to converse with peers or be in a large crowd of people where the noises were loud and she felt entirely...alone amongst the others.
Annie met Finnick long before they were entered in the pot for the reaping. He was only 3 years older than her, and being from the same district they often ran into one another. He would sit with her on the beach and Annie felt as if she could really talk to him without her little "quirks" coming out.
Annie fell for Finnick a few years after he returned from the games, their friendship getting stronger until they managed to start a real relationship, disillusioned from the rest of the world as long as they were together... They had this "feeling" that Annie would never have to face the games for herself...Then she turned 16.
Annie was reaped for the 70th Hunger Games, surviving on pure luck and a limited amount of skill. During the Games, Annie witnessed her fellow District 4 male tribute's beheading, which drove her insane. She has certain problems which included her closing her eyes and covering her ears, laughing when it is unnecessary, and staring into the distance at strange times. She hid for most of the 70th Hunger Games, until an earthquake broke a dam and flooded the entire arena. Annie survived by being the best swimmer. Since then, she has been perceived as being mentally unstable and is grappling with her stability.
She hasn't been the same since she came from the games and Finnick has been doing everything in his power to keep her from going over the edge...and she feels comfortable as long as she has him. They are currently engaged to be married.
Views on the game: It is disgusting and wrong. No one should watch murder for entertainment, especially the murder of children...It is barbaric
